How Do You Conserve Water?

My family and I have done and still do many things to conserve water in our home and other places. Every time I brush my teeth, I make sure the water is not running as I am brushing. In our home, we have an osmosis system that purifies all our drinking water. This prevents us from buying and misusing bottled water. Whenever we bought bottled water, there always was some water left in the bottle after we finished and threw it out. However, if we need bottled water for school, I buy the mini-sized type so that I know I will be able to finish all of it. The most unique way my family and I conserve water is by using a sprinkler system that uses lake water. We live on a lake and the sprinkler system we have pumps the lake water to our sprinklers. This way, we do not use purified water on our lawn. I also take advantage of the weather when it rains. After it rains, I make sure the sprinklers are off for that day so unnecessary water will be conserved. Whenever I take showers, I try to limit the amount of time I spend. Not only because I will be exhausting out water supply, but because the water becomes cooler after a while. I always make sure there are no unnecessary drips from our home faucets. When there are drips or leaks, I make sure to cover them adequately enough until a plumber arrives to fix the problem. I also limit the amount of water the toilet dispenses during a flush. I never unnecessarily flush the toilets in my house. I also installed a head on the tip of my hose so that water will be kept inside until the trigger is pushed even when we forget to turn the hose off.
