Youth Summit Agenda 

The summit brings together about 350 student leaders and educators from all over the globe to learn about the work of the United Nations on addressing climate change.  Participants will also learn specific skills that they can bring back to their communities to build effective campaigns about climate change challenges and solutions.

Every participant must show. photo ID to enter the UN.

8:30-9:15 Keynote Address
"The Role of the United Nations in Solving Global Problems"

9:30-11:00 Panel: Young People and Activism on Climate Change

10:30-12:30 Concurrent Workshops: Finding Your Voice
Participants will break into small groups (see name badge for group number)

  • One of the best ways to make your point is to share your personal story.  Learn how to let your passion and interests come alive through telling your own story.  We’ll give you all the tips and skills you will need!

12:30-1:30 Lunch

1:30-5:00 Using Social Media

  • How can you get your thoughts, ideas and messages out to the world?  This workshop will show you how to use media - video, podcasts, spoken word, etc. - to effectively communicate and reach ever wider audiences.
