What is this all about?
The Global Debates are an opportunity for high school students and teachers to participate in public discussions and action around critical international issues. Right now, schools in more than 90 countries participate in the Global Debates. Now, you can too!
What do we debate?
The Global Debate topics focus on current UN-related issues. For the past few years we have dealt with issues ranging from climate change to poverty. But remember, we don't just debate, we take action in our communities to raise awareness and make change.
Who can Participate?
Any U.S. or international high school (grades 9-12, ages 14-19) can participate in the Global Debates. Please register your school online.
But wait, there's more!
Schools who participate in the points activities can compete for a yearly final prize. This is your chance to meet other students and teachers from around the world and work together to bring global issues into your classroom and community.
Who are we?
We are a group of people from the UN Foundation who believe that students and educators are essential to what we do. It's not just current world leaders and elected officials who can make change but it's individuals and groups like you who can activate their peers and communities to take action. Your voice matters the most - so speak up, get involved, and let us know what you think! |
