About Climate Crews:
Each year, the UN Foundation puts out a call to colleges and universities, challenging students to combat climate on their campuses. Interested participants submit projects proposals and a team of experts carefully selects the top ten. Winners are brought to DC for two days of training, followed up by campus visits where students are given the opportunity to showcase their work in person. Winners are also awarded a $500 mini project grant.
For the 2008/2009 Climate Crews contest, the UN Foundation partnered with the Sustainable Endowments Institute (SEI) who brings many years of experience advancing sustainability on college campuses to the partnership. For this program, SEI's unique Green Report Card was used to deepen contest participants understanding of their schools sustainability practices. |
